Caitlin Keiko Denegre.
Raised in coastal Maine, Caitlin just graduated from the BA Acting (International) course at London’s East 15 Acting School. Before that, she studied at Mount Holyoke College in the US. Other training includes the Shakespeare summer intensive at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts.
During her time at East 15, Caitlin has tackled lead roles in Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, Chekhov’s Wild Honey, and texts by modern British playwrights. She developed strong devising and improvisational skills, putting them to use during the creation of 30 Days of Blood (dir. Eva Ditzelmüller), which premiered at the International Festival of New Work (IF) in 2017. The play is a highly comedic, physical, and sensory exploration of womanhood; of its perception, expectation, and reality.
In 2018, she co-founded Theatre Peregrine, a theatre company comprised of 30 Days’s core creative team. She dipped her toes in the world of production as the company brought this debut show to a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe in August. Theatre Peregrine is a vehicle for relevant, passionate, and engaging voices and Caitlin is eager to begin writing and developing work for this new endeavour.
Caitlin is a classically trained singer, and enjoys putting her skills to use, whether that be musical theatre or incorporating music into text and devising. Likewise, dance has always been an important part of her life.
After a childhood spent on an island, Caitlin is a veteran small-boat sailor, hiker, swimmer, and eater of lobster. She is equally at home in the city, atop a mountain, or on the water.
